Cozumel Day 2: My First Real Scuba Dive! 🤿
Day 2 of Vacation - March 28, 2026
Dear Diary,
Today I woke up extremely early at 7:00 remembering I have a scuba diving session at 8:30! 😱
The Resort
I took a 15-minute walk through the extremely big 5-star Iberostar Waves Resort in Cozumel. They conveniently gave us a free upgrade that would have cost $200 more! Our compartment is near the beach, swimming pool, and close to the free food buffet.
The only downside? It's an extremely long walk to breakfast and the other restaurants. But SO worth it.
Yesterday I had the best Mexican taco of my life at the resort's Mexican restaurant! 🌮
Cool Animals Everywhere!
The resort has FREE animals just running around:
- 🦝 Coatis
- 🦚 Peacocks & Peahens
- 🐱 Cats
- 🦎 Iguanas
- 🦩 Flamingos
- 🦅 Hawks

After a 3-hour lesson, we went actually diving into the ocean of Cozumel for my FIRST TIME EVER!
Marine Life Spotted:
- Spotted Eagle Rays - so majestic!
- Parrotfish - bright and colorful
- Needlefish - long and sleek
- Butterflyfish - beautiful patterns
- Barracudas - kinda scary 😅
- Atlantic Blue Tangs - like Dory!
- Black Durgon Triggerfish
- Valentini Pufferfish - so cute and round
- Giant Barrel Sponges - HUGE
- Queen Conch - beautiful shells
- Stingrays - graceful gliders
After the dive we got our official diving logs! 📋
Then dinner at an Asian buffet... it was meh. Ended the day watching an amazing fire show! 🔥
